TALES
|
Thales
Thales of Miletus who was the father of geometry and philosophy was the first man
to whom the name of "wise" was given. Thales was interested in knowledge of the
world and the stars. Thales, who tried to differentiate what was science and what
was not science, was the first man who dared to think about the world without first
thinking of God.
Thales put forward principles after reasoning on his observations; therefore he has
been deemed as the first philosopher. Thales thought the primary element was water.
